House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., predicted Monday night that House investigations into the Bidens’ foreign business dealings will lead to an impeachment inquiry.
Well, what a waste of time, resources and potential votes for the upcoming 2024 election.
Why is McCarthy talking this nonsense? The GOP barely controls the House and is not even close to controlling the Senate where any “impeachment” trial would be adjudicated. In simple terms it would be another GOP go-nowhere waste of time.
But…that all depends on the goal.
Just like building the wall or controlling the border was never the real goal each time the GOP promised that result if you, the honest but always-duped voter, would just donate one more time…if you would just vote the GOP a majority one more time….
And with each “one more time” all that happens is that the GOP has more of your money; makes more shady deals with the Chamber of Commerce, The Club for Growth and the Democrats. But few promises made to the trusting Conservative voter/donor are ever kept. The promises are just a ruse to lighten your wallet and harvest your vote.
For once, we should call their bluff; tell McCarthy to shove his impeachment bullshit where the sun don’t shine and just start arresting the criminal bureaucrats including Cabinet perjurers.
Of course, to do this would require the cooperation of the DOJ which would never be forthcoming. So, there is still plan B and plan C.
Plan B would be a swift finding of contempt against uncooperative witnesses/offenders and using civil action in the courts to enforce those contempt citations.
Plan B is for the House to do what the Founders intended…use the “Power of the Purse”. All of the chest-pounders running these scary sounding agencies would not be so scary once they couldn’t pay their bills resulting in the electricity being shut-off.
Sounds crazy, doesn’t it…but not nearly as crazy as the verbal masturbation of go-nowhere impeachment threats.
For once, the GOP should try something that might work. It’s the same theory as not bandying about the word war unless one actually intends on going to war (not a forever police action) with the purpose and resolve to win it instead of just making the defense industry wealthy.
